Is Kratom Legal in the Netherlands?

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is legal in the Netherlands. It is not listed in the Opium Act. Kratom is sold in smartshops and online as an herbal product. The EU has not imposed restrictions, though some member states have their own bans.
